Hopefully today I will finish my next Quilts for Kids quilt. Just have to sew down the binding. Thought I would share a couple dog stories today. I took my sister to the local animal shelter yesterday. She is considering a second dog. SOOOOOOO many scared faces. I wanted to bring all of them home. Can't do that anymore since I don't have a means to get them adopted but it doesn't stop my heart from hurting for them. So my plea would be to check your local shelter or local rescue for a new member of your family. I have 4 registered dogs, 3 beagles and a pug but they are all spayed, no breeding here and there is nothing wrong with haveing purebreds but don't forget those lost souls at the rescue's and shelters. There are also specialty rescues for most breeds of dog so look for one of those also. For the record I still have 6 rescue dogs with different issues that need forever homes and 7 of my own that are rescues.

My dogs like carrots and bananas. So weird they are :). Do any of you have dogs with such quircky eating habits?? I can't even open the refrigerator anymore and I have dogs waiting for a bite of a carrot. Gotta love them!!

In 2007 my 4 internet buddies and I did a block exchange. Nikki mentioned we should do it again. Here are my blocks that I have not done anything with (the story of my life)I have them in a bag on the "I will make something with it someday" shelf. Maybe if we do some more I can make a lap quilt out of them.

Another NQD has come and gone and I didn't do much quilting. I did however put borders on this block on Friday. I painted it last year and still don't know what to do with it. I am thinking I should leave it as is for now and maybe try to paint a couple more scenes and make a banner. Not sure. I do like how the border looks.

National Quilting Day

Don't forget tomorrow/Sat is National Quilting Day. Take the day off and just QUILT ALL DAY!!! Ok so I dream a lot.

Not much new this week. I didn't do much quilting but have some ideas in my head so think today I will work on making those ideas into something.

Finished the Quilt for Kids quilt today. I have one more finished top that I want to finish before I start any more. Might take a break after the next one and do something for myself.

My daughter and I took my sister to Las Vegas yesterday. We visited a few quilt shops. She recently moved to Pahrump and is just starting to quilt. We wanted to show her what is available and where to shop. I was very proud that I didn't go crazy and buy buy buy. This picture is the fabric I bought. Sooooooooooooo pretty. Can you tell I love green?

I finished quilting my ugly fabric wall quilt today. I wanted to say I like the Halo I used to hold the quilt while I quilted.

I don't seem to be able to get as much done in a week as my friend Kathie but I did manage to get this top done today. It is my 8th quilt for Quilts for Kids. I have two now that I need to sandwich and quilt.

Yesterday my daughter Shannon and I actually spent some time in the sewing room. She worked on some cloth books for a friends son and I decided to try out the "quilt halo" my sister gave me. Several years ago I entered an ugly fabric contest and the wall hanging that resulted from that is what I am practicing on. I think I like it. It works good as long as there is a flat surface under the quilt and to my amazement it is easy to use. I suffer from Fibromyalgia and arthritis. Holding my arms up for long periods is tireing and trying to control the fabric makes my hands hurt. I found I can relax more and not fight to move the quilt. The limited area to stitch in will take some time to get used to but all in all it is a good product.

Both of my friends, Lou and Kathie, had quilt projects to post about this week. I do not... I think all I have accomplished this weekend is to pick out coordinating fabrics to go with the 2 pieces I bought on Friday and to start a beading project.

I don't work outside the home but some days it sure feels like it when I have dogs and errands to take care of. We had a scare yesterday with one of the dogs. His name is Wesley, he is a Chow/Newfoundland mix. Quite the character he is. We came home yesterday afternoon and found a trash can with a green garbage bag in it, half full of dog food, outside of our fence. I pulled the can inside but left it by the gate. Nice of someone to give us food, or so we thought, but not something already opened. Wesley was acting strange and stayed up by the gate. Last night we went up to see if he was ok and looked in the bag and the food is moldy. We promptly threw it away. DID SOMEONE FEED SOME TO WES AND THAT IS WHY HE IS ACTING SO ODDLY??? we worried all night but this morning he is fine and wagging his tail and smiling happily.
